Rob had a great weekend performing at the Beaches Jazz Festival to huge crowds. He was joined by his fantastic band, Alex Toth on bass, Ben Weigensberg on drums, Lucian Gray on guitar and other special guests including; singers, Majid Al Maskati and Marisa Lindsay, drummers, Adam Aruda and Anthony Szczachor and his frequent musical partner Quincy Bullen.
Ninja Funk Orchestra played Beaches Jazz Festival Woodbine Park on Sat. July 18. It was great!

June 2009 Rob has finished 2nd year in Jazz Studies at U of T. His summer schedule is filling up with solo gigs, and with other great artists including with Quincy Bullen's Band and Ninja Funk Orchestra.
Spring 2009 Rob has joined the cool Jazz/ Funk/ Rock colaboration, Ninja Funk Orchestra.

July 2008 July is a busy month. Rob is appearing at several Beaches Jazz Festival events and concerts. He performed with the Quintessential Boys at the Beaches Press Launch and will be a guest of Quincy Bullen and the Toth Brothers at the Youth Stage at Woodbine Park (July 19, 20) and will be returning to Streetfest (July 24-26) at the corner of Queen St. East and Hammersmith with his quartet.
This will be Rob's 6th year performing at the Beaches Jazz Festival (he played a set on flute during Not Affiliated Big Band's break when he was only 13 years old). The crowd was amazed! (really wish we had pictures from that night)

Rob will be recording his new album in June. There will be some big surprises on this album.

Rob had a great time on the cruise. He's glad to be back home too.
April 2008 Rob will be leaving on Friday for a gig on the Carnival Cruise ship, 'Sensation', cruising to the Bahamas. He'll be back mid-May.
It has been a long time since this page has been updated. Rob has been busy at school and had planned to be away all summer. He is no longer going to be away and so has been scrambling to put together a summer gig schedule.

Happy New Year everyone! It's been a long time since this page has been updated. Rob has been attending the university of Toronto jazz performance program which has kept him very busy. He is happy to be studying with Quinson Nachoff.
We are sorry to say that Rob's almost two year run at the Hilton Absolute Lounge is over. The management of the Hilton has decided to discontinue the live jazz. It was great to have lasted for as long as it did. Thanks to the many great artists that joined Rob twice a month especially, Sophia Perlman, Maya Chilton,Marieve Herington, Shannon Butcher, Adrean Farrugiaand Mark Keiswetter.

Another sucessful Beaches Jazz Festival has come and gone. Thanks to everyone who came out and said hi and bought CD's.
Rob's Combo is playing at the Beaches Jazz Festival this weekend. Thursday night was full of surprises as special guests, Robi Botos and Brian Dickinson sat in on piano and Sam Dickinson sat in on guitar. Rob's combo changes nightly and includes; Ross MacIntyre and Mark Cashion on Bass, Mike Barrington and Jeff Halischuk on drums, Mark Hererra and Mark Kieswetter on piano and and Steve Poloni on guitar. Saturday night Rob's special guest will be vocalist, Marisa Lindsay. Rob's combo is playing at the corner of Queen St. E. and Hammersmith.

Rob will be playing sax for Marisa Lindsay during her Ontario tour! Marisa is a fantastic soul/jazz singer from Barbados.
Rob will be joining the nufunk band God Made Me Funky for their eastern Canada tour in July. They will be hitting the Montreal Jazz Festival on July 4, then on to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

We've posted a new youtube video of Rob at the Beaches Jazz Festival last year. See the media page (it's the video on the right). With him is singer Sophia Perlman. They are doing a funky version of Summertime.
Rob been accepted to the University of Toronto, Faculty of Music to study Jazz Performance. He has been selected to receive the Moe Koffman Memorial Jazz Scholarship.
The date and location for their CD release of Underage is Sunday, April 29 at the Trane Studio (964 Bathurst St.) starting at 3:00 pm.

Last night Rob played with Marieve Herington's band at the Lula Lounge for Jazz FM's Jazz Safari, hosted by Jaymz Bee. It was a fantastic dinner set. Rob then got asked to go along on the bus with the Safarians and join them at their next destination, the Pantages Hotel piano lounge. Rob got to sit in and play three tunes with the fantastic pianist Robert Scott. What a fun evening. Thanks again to Jaymz!
